When Will the Official Answer Key Be Released?
Kerala PSC follows a fixed sequence for every OMR examination:
- Provisional answer key — published on keralapsc.gov.in under the “Answer Key” section, usually within one to two weeks of the exam.
- Complaint window — candidates can challenge disputed questions online through their Thulasi profile within the notified period. Complaints submitted after the deadline are not considered.
- Final answer key — released after an expert panel reviews valid objections. Deleted questions, if any, are compensated as per PSC rules.
The final key is what your result is calculated from, so never treat a provisional score as your confirmed mark.
Unofficial Answer Keys Are Already Out
Coaching institutes across Kerala typically publish memory-based and question-paper-based keys on the evening of the exam itself, separately for Stage I and Stage II. These are useful for a rough estimate, but versions often disagree on 3–5 questions. Wait for the PSC provisional key before drawing conclusions.
How to Calculate Your Score
The preliminary exam carries 100 questions worth 100 marks per stage. Kerala PSC applies its standard ⅓ negative marking for every wrong answer in objective tests. Use this formula:

Unattempted questions carry no penalty. Match your answers strictly against your own booklet code (A/B/C/D) — comparing against the wrong code is the most common self-evaluation mistake candidates make.
Expected Cut Off 2026: What the Data Actually Says
Kerala PSC does not announce a single statewide cut off for this exam, and any site quoting an exact number right now is guessing. Here is what genuinely determines it:
- Stage-wise normalization — because two stages used different question papers, PSC applies moderation so no stage gets an unfair advantage. Your raw score and normalized score can differ.
- District-wise lists for LGS — LGS shortlists are prepared district by district, so the qualifying mark varies across districts based on applicant density.
- Vacancy-to-candidate ratio — with 6 lakh+ applicants competing, the shortlisting bar tends to sit higher than smaller notifications.
Going by previous 10th-level preliminary cycles, candidates scoring comfortably above the 60-mark range (after negative marking) have historically stood a strong chance of clearing the prelim stage — treat this as an indicative benchmark, not an official figure. What Happens After the Prelim?
Shortlisted candidates move to the main examination (or direct verification, depending on the category), followed by document verification through One Time Verification and the ranked list.
