Thulasi Apply Now Button Disabled? 5 Real Fixes

You found the right notification, logged into your Thulasi profile, opened the category — and the Apply Now button is greyed out or missing. Thousands of Kerala PSC candidates hit this exact wall every notification cycle, and the portal never tells you why. The reason is almost always one of five profile-level blocks. Work through them in this order, because this is the order in which Thulasi checks your profile.

Fix 1: Your Profile Photo Is Older Than 10 Years

This is the single biggest cause in 2026. Kerala PSC now strictly enforces the 10-year photo validity rule: if your profile photograph was uploaded before 2016, the system flags your One Time Registration (OTR) as outdated and keeps the Apply Now option locked until you upload a fresh one.

How to Re-Upload Correctly

Your new photo must meet every specification, or it gets rejected again:

• Size: 150px (width) × 200px (height), under 30 KB
• Photo text: Your name and the date the photo was taken, printed at the bottom in black ink on a white background
• Recency: Taken within the last 6 months

Log in → My Profile → Photo section → upload → save. Once accepted, the new photo stays valid for 10 years.

Fix 2: Aadhaar Is Not Linked to Your OTR

From 2026, Aadhaar linkage is mandatory for Gazetted and Police-category posts. If you are applying to any of these categories and your Aadhaar is not added as “ID Proof” in your OTR profile, the Apply Now button will not activate — unlinked profiles are being flagged at the application stage.

Go to My Profile → ID Proof section → select Aadhaar → enter the number exactly as printed on your card → save. Make sure the name spelling in your Thulasi profile matches your Aadhaar record; a mismatch here creates verification problems later during One Time Verification.

Fix 3: A Mandatory Field Is Empty

Thulasi will not let you apply while any required field sits blank — and older profiles created years ago often have fields that became mandatory after registration. Check these sections one by one under My Profile:

• Personal details — including ID proof and contact information
• Qualification details — the notification’s required qualification must exist in your profile, with certificate details filled in
• Communication address — district and pin code complete

After filling anything, click save on that section. Unsaved edits are a silent killer here: candidates fill the field, close the tab, and wonder why nothing changed.

Fix 4: You Do Not Meet the Notification’s Eligibility

Thulasi cross-checks your date of birth and qualification against the category before enabling the button. If your age falls outside the limit specified in the notification (after applicable relaxations), or your entered qualification does not match the prescribed one, the option stays hidden — and no profile edit will change that. Open the official notification PDF on keralapsc.gov.in and verify the age limit, qualification, and whether the post is restricted (by-transfer, district-specific, or special recruitment). This is the one cause that is not a technical fault.

Fix 5: Session, Cache, or an Already-Submitted Application

If the four checks above pass and the button still misbehaves:

• Log out fully, clear your browser cache, and log in again. Stale sessions on the Thulasi portal frequently freeze buttons, especially on mobile browsers.
• Check your Application History. If you already applied to that category number, the button will not appear a second time — one application per category is the rule.
• Try during off-peak hours. On last dates, server load makes elements load incompletely. Never wait for the final day; if you face login problems, you lose the window entirely.
